My name is Pete; I am a passionate angler, husband, and father who loves to fish, paddle, row, and dive in our beautiful waters. My passion is working with and for people. I have been captivated by fishing since catching my first fish (a bullhead) at 4 years old with my dad. Since then, I have traveled across the country fishing. I served as a Naval officer before moving to the Milwaukee area, where I currently work full-time as a registered nurse.
Upon returning back to my roots in Wisconsin, I started fishing and paddling the Milwaukee River watershed and her tributaries that lead to Lake Michigan. The Milwaukee is a fascinating river that helped build a city and has since undergone a major cleanup and supports a diverse fishery. I spend most of my time fishing the upper sections of the Milwaukee River and her smaller tributaries where it is more common to see eagles, cranes, mink, and deer than people.
As a licensed and insured Wisconsin guide, I would like to offer you the chance to explore some of these beautiful rivers, creeks, and lakes with me. I promise to work hard to meet your goals whether that is catching your first fish, learning to cast a fly, capturing the perfect photo of a wood duck family, or simply enjoying the peace and serenity of a river float trip. While catching fish is never a guarantee, it is not uncommon to have double digit pike and bass days during the summer and fall.
Protecting the fish and wildlife who depend on our local waterways is the number one goal. Doug Duren, one of Wisconsin's modern conservationists, says, "It's not ours, it's just our turn." We must act as stewards of the land and water. While I do enjoy eating a fresh catch of fish and believe in the Wisconsin DNR bag limits, Milwaukee River Fly Fishing is strictly a catch and release operation. The rivers in this area are on the upswing after centuries of pollution and man-made structures compromised their vitality, and Milwaukee River Fly Fishing does not want to threaten them in anyway.
